Remove unearned step and floor badges

Recently, my family and I rented a bunch of Jeeps and took them over some mountain passes in the Colorado Rockies. It was an amazing time. I had my Fitbit with me.

The roads were basically constructed of boulders and therefore pretty ...bouncy. At the end of both days, my Fitbit had registered 100+ flights of stairs. The second day I got my first 150 Flights badge. I would love, love, LOVE to have the badges for these days revoked. I didn't actually earn them and I don't like the idea of having a badge I didn't earn. And 150 flights of stairs is a tough one to earn legitimately. 😞

Can you all implement a way on the backend so that users can petition to have unearned badges removed?

While there are ways to negate floors climbed from driving, there is no way to delete any floors climbed badges that were "earned" from driving. I'd love to be able to remove badges earned in error so I can more accurately track my progress.

I would like the ability to delete step badges. There was a glitch on my fitbit and one day it recorded almost 90k steps though I only had 15k steps max. It gave me badges from 30k steps all the way up to 75k step badge. I don't want badges I didn't earn. Emailing customer support didn't help, apparently no one is able to delete the badges. That is silly, allow us to delete accidental badges.

I kept my Flex on while mowing the lawn and was awarded a 20,000 step award.  While it felt like it, it isn't correct.

It would be great if there was an option to remove any badges, not just weight ones.  I put my fitbit on my nightstand by a fan which caused it to vibrate and count steps.  Now my highest recorded daily step count is by a fan and not me!  In reading the community posts, I notice that other people get inflated step and stair counts for all sorts of reasons that are beyond their control (driving, wind, etc.).  It would be nice if all badges were all actually earned and ones that weren't could be removed.

It would be nice to be able to delete unearned badges for things other than weight. I recently mis-placed my one and in the process of having is shipped back from where it was found it shows that I earned two badges for stairs when it wasn't even in my posession. If it's possible to delete weight badges why can't others be deleted?

Thank you!

I had EXACTLY the same thing happen (left it on nightstand with fan and it racked up enormous numbers). While I have been able to reset the step count and the calorie count, I still have a big badge on my dashboard that says I have taken 50,000 steps in one day which is annoying since it is false and is preventing me from getting a real, earned badge from any new, more realistic goals. It's not a huge deal, but it does seem strange that it can't be corrected.

Another way to solve this would be to have a Pause Acvitity, where just like any other Activity you enter a time range, but this one zeros out the steps / calories for that time period. As @followingsea suggests, this would also need to be connected to a backend tool that removes any badges that are no longer earned.

HA!  You are too honest... my husband had the same thing happen while we were ziplining in Costa Rica and bragged about that badge for weeks!  Always forgetting to mention that it was completely unearned!  Smiley Surprised

Yes I would agree with this one. I have a fan on my table when I sleep. I put my fitbit on the table when sleeping and when I woke up it said I did 45,000 steps.

That s what I was going to request too. Yesterday I earned a badge for doing 420 flights, not bad considering I was playing tennis. I would so love to remove that badge.

It would be great if badges could be removed or reset. Sometimes badges are added by error or they were achieved by a previous fitbit product owner. See the dicussion here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/One/reset-badges/m-p/271636/thread-id/16058/highlight/true

I agree that the feature to delete badges is needed. I seemed to have earned a 45,000 step badge in January of 2009 when I didn't have a fitbit!

Seriously. Get on this already. It's ridiculous to offer this, have it not work for many people (I earned several badges on my fitbit just taking it out of the box) and not allow for deletion. The badges are useless to me if I didn't earn them.

I recently had a defective device (an already replaced Flex). It was recording 115,000 steps a day! Whilst I have managed to get these steps removed from my records, I falsely obtained loads of achievement badges which I don't deserve, now if I walk 50,000 steps in a day I won't get a new badge. Fitbit have said there's no way of selectively removing badges given from false data. This is stupid! Fitbit, give us this function!!!

When I first got my Fitbit over 2 years ago, the badge feature was exciting for me. It kept me motivated to keep getting better & better. Then one day a 15-hour-long drive got me a 20,000 step badge and a 300 flights of stairs in a day badge. When Fitbit told me they couldn't override the system to revoke these badges, I decided to stop caring about the badges at all. But now, 2 years later, I'm looking for motivation again and would REALLY like to see my LEGITIMATE past accomplishments to strive for. There is no way I'll get 400 flights of stairs in a day in order to earn the next badge...

Geez, two years I've been complaining about this & still nothing has been done.

Please please add this feature! I have badges from almost 2 years ago where I clocked up 400 flights of stairs in a day, despite deleting these manually!

Please also allow us to manually delete badges! Its ridiculous that we can't!

Same as ColourTreegirl et al, while on vacation I took my Fitbit off for the night and happened to place it next to a SleepMate "white noise" machine, basically an AC fan in a box. Next morning I had over 50K steps, and an indelible badge I want to get rid of. I've gone back and negated the steps for the time period involved (by defining an "activity" of "Driving" as suggested by other posters), but the badge remains.

The other day someone just "cheered" me for my badge, which reminded me I need to find a way to get rid of it. Some have suggested contacting Support, while others have said that even they can't get rid of it.

Please add this. I earned a 75-200 floors in a day badges because of a bumpy road in costa rica. I want to actually earn these and be able to brag about them.

Recently I was entering my weight on my App.  Unfortunately, I mistyped and forget a 0.  As a result, I earned bagdes and met my goal due to this small error, mind you, I'm NOT anywhere near meeting my goals.  I talked with your AliveChat support, and was informed that there is no way to delete the badges.  It would be great if calling/chatting in to a specialist that you could have the option to delete these milestone badges, even if it's not something that users can do on their own.  It's incredibly frustrating now, because in order to actually see the progression of these milestones, I have to delete my account and start over.  I understand I made a mistake, but now I'm going to have to start over, and I've had my fitbit since April, here it's July so I'm going to lose all the data for the last 3 months.  All the milestones I've already made.  So it's not going to be an accurate display of my progress.  I hope that this can be a feature your development team can add.

Thanks,

Disappointed and frustrated

@ashleyryost You can delete weight loss badges. If you hover your mouse over the badge you will see a Trash can. Use that to delete.

It only works with weight loss badges. no other badges

I would love if Fitbit would either (1) allow users to remove their own badges, (2) or provide a way that their technical support team can remove badges.  My previous Fitbit One has been miscalculating floors for a year now.  As a result I've earned badges that are not accurate.  I have since replaced it with a Fitbit Charge HR, which I love and is now counting floors accurately.

After multiple emails back and forth, technical support has told me that even their software engineers say they can't remove badges. Please research and come up with a way that a user can request their false badges removed or provide a way we can do it ourselves from our profile.  It is just data stored in a database.  Data can be deleted.

Thanks!

I'd love this feature too.  I drive a Jeep and I have the top down the entire summer.  I've read it's the wind that causes my FitBit to miscalculate the number of stairs.  I got drive bit it erases the steps and stairs I didn't earn, so that's great.  And if I forget to use it, I can manually log drive time and get close.  So the false reporting isn't too big an issue, but today I got a helicopter badge for 500 fligths of stairs when I'm only up to 210.  I'd like this badge to go away so I can get it again when I've earned it and it means something.

Also, on a daily basis, when driving, I'll sometimes hit my step goal and get a notification.  When I enter my drive time it reduces the number of steps to the appropriate level.  The problem is that, later, when I do hit my goal, it doesn't give a second notification.  It would be nice if that would be reset too when the steps are taken away.

Imike71 said (but thise page won't let me reply to it or quote it): "After multiple emails back and forth, technical support has told me that even their software engineers say they can't remove badges. Please research and come up with a way that a user can request their false badges removed or provide a way we can do it ourselves from our profile.  It is just data stored in a database.  Data can be deleted."

Mike, I completely belive you that that's what you were told.  I just don't buy that they can't do it.  These guys can take accelerometer vectors and air pressure and write algorithms that can, not only count your steps and the stairs you've climbed, but your active minutes, and even tell when you're asleep.  I couldn't even BEGIN to tell you how to do that, by contrast, removing some badges doesn't seem that difficult.

I had earned 5, 10, 15 lb badges. the 10 lb badge is gone. How did that happen? I would like toget it back. anyone know how t find it? Also. any other weight loss badges are not to be recieved. I called the support number and they said you dont get anymore badges after 15 lbs. Most ridiculous thing Ive ever hear. I think I will call corporate to find correct information.
