Allow users to revert back to Fitbit Pay from Google Pay. I switched to Google Pay when it was available. Not realizing my bank doesn't allow tap to pay from a watch through Google Pay. It was working fine on Fitbit Pay.
I switched to Google Wallet and tells me an unexpected error BEFORE I ever get to the point of adding cards. Now I can't pay anything through my device. This option should not have been pushed to the customer until all the issues were reviewed and resolved. I also wouldn't have thought there would be completely different bank lists from Fitbit to Google. Poorly rolled out and not informative enough for the user to make a decision. How can a reset not even allow reverting back? This is just a mess and super frustrating to not have any solutions. I am not a tech expert and I don't expect to invest hours trying to follow the directions given just to have it continue not to work. I'm about ready to switch to Apple device. Between this and the terrible app update, I am losing confidence in Fitbit and do not see an upside to the switch to Google at this point.
Same issue here, Fitbit pay was working fine then I was forced to switch to Google wallet, I have an iPhone and Google Wallet not even an app I can install, Android only. I went from having a feature that was working to not with not option to go back. I’m due for an upgrade and if this is still a problem I’m going to jump ship to another fitness tracking platform that cares about its customers.
I also have an iPhone and I use Google Wallet for my contactless pay on the Versa 4. I logged into the Google wallet on the browser rather than app to add my cards. Give that a try maybe.
edit: just tried to check, I reckon I did it through Google wallet -> Google Pay
Thanks for commenting. Google “Pay” is what you are referring to which is set up for me and the IPhone app of the same name is also installed. Google “Wallet” is a specific app that is a for android only.
It lets me log into my Google pay account in the Google wallet section of the Fitbit app so that’s how I use the Versa to make payments. Are you not able to log into it on the Fitbit app?
Unfortunately as with an other user in this post it fails to sign my into google wallet from the Fitbit app (all up to date). Just get an unexpected error at the sign in and option to leave or retry, to no avail.
