Team Option for Challenges

Create a team option for challenges such as the Workweek Hustle.  The team with the highest average wins.  Suppose you want to set up three teams such as:

  • (You) Captain Kirk, Bones, Spock
  • Captain Stubing, Julie, Gopher
  • Captain Dallas, Ripley, Kane

First, you invite the other captains (as captains), then you (and the other captains) invite your teammates (as teammates) like such:

Once everyone has been added, the leaderboard will sort the rank of teams first, then within teams, shows the rank among the teammates like this:

The chatter can be designated within the team or for the entire challenge.  The limits can be expanded to say 3 teams and 10 members within each team.

Hi @jojocaff. Thanks for explaining why you would like to have a team option for the challenges and adventures with us! I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can check this other suggestion here. Keep adding your suggestions!

Every week, 10 of us play the workweek challenge. The same people win and the same people lose.

Wouldn't it be cool if our group could play on a team against another group. Group steps vs group steps.

You work as a team instead of against each other.

(Groups would be assigned randomly)

Leverage wireless hardware (bluetooth / wifi / NFC ) for interactive massive-multiplayer-muti-device games among fitbit users for fun and research purposes.

1)"Virus" spread modeling

A small group of fitbit users have a "cold".  When an  "infected" user moves within wireless range of another fitbit user, the second user also receives the "cold" and so forth based off device-to-device wireless transfer. Data capture models how the "virus" spreads (where, when, who) for research purposes.  It also serves as a game for the users to try to stay alive, and in an emergency assists in tracking contagious spreading of real disease

2) "Tag you're it"

One player is "it" and transfers "it" to another player when they are within NFC/bluetooth/wireless range.  No tag backs.  The "it" player then has to transfer it to someone else.

3) "Capture the flag"

-Each team has a device as the "flag", as well as a geo-defined zone.  "Attacking" players attempt to get close enough to the wireless flag to trigger capturing it, and then must return the flag to their own team's geo-zone.  "Defending" zone players can capture "attackers" and place them in "prisoner mode" until freed by another "attacking" player.

4) "Singles"

-A voluntary discrete alert when two relationally single individuals are in proximity.

Has anything ever come from the talk about a team competition?  I loved the idea (screenshots with captains etc).

Sadly no. This was posted years ago and I was told by Fitbit that they already had a team function in place and this was unnecessary

Would it be possible to look into a team versus team version of existing challenges. Take work week hustle for example, instead of individuals challenging each other I think teams of 2+ against each other would be great fun. Working along the lines of all for one but with more teams.
