Trade in/Upgrade Program

I've been a fitbit user for a little over a year now, receiving one as a gift last Christmas. Now seeing how my flex is so behind the times, I would like to upgrade to one of the HR ones. However, spending another 130-150 is very difficult. Wanting Fitbit to offer an upgrade or trade in program to allow for this to be more affordable.

I also would up grade if they had a upgrade program everyone in my family has a Fitbit I am sure they would too. I have been a Fitbit user for as long as Fitbit has been available and I recommend it to everyone I love my Ionic

So these posts requesting a trade in program go back several years. Apparently this is something that would work great for Fitbit users but not something the Fitbit company feels they need to act on to keep their customer base happy.  Im going to assume they feel it would be a bad business decision and deem it unnecessary.  If it’s important enough to Fitbit users they can change to a competitor who does offer this service.

I would like to see an upgrade/ exchange program implemented so when new products come out people have the option to "trade in" their old Fitbit for an agreed price and pay the difference for the newer model Fitbit... Lots of other organisations are already doing this and I think that Fitbit could really benefit from a program like this..

Hello @taylahjadeadamsthanks for taking the time to share your idea with us. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your idea into this one. You can give kudos by clicking on the thumbs up button.

I would like this too...would like to buy the new Charge 3 (but have the new sportsband, blue with "air holes" which does not fit the Charge 3.  A replacement trade-in, an amount to applied to the newer model would make my decision to upgrade that much easier.  Apple offers this in its devices and as an Apple user I would appreciate this.

@MarcelBK At what point do we stop gibing thumbs up and start getting action from FitBit.  This has been an ongoing thread for years.  Getting tired of the same response over and over again.

Thanks!

Hey @Saintsgirl! I do not have a time frame when the status will be changed for this suggestion. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

Agreed! I prchased a Charge 2 when first released- the band had broken and been replaced twice and now the screen is cracked. Fitbit needs a program to allow customers to upgrade to newer model for discounted price rather than having to start from scratch.

Fitbit Administrator - Are these comments regarding a trade-in program being considered (or even read) by those in the company who could effect such a program?  An endless outpouring of comments without an official response (so far).  Is such a trade-in program being considered for the future?  In all seriousness, as the holidays are approaching and folks are considering gift options, timing couldn't be better.  Would appreciate a reply as to the possibility . . .

I think it would be worth considering an exchange program where consumers would be able to upgrade to a new Fitbit product by sending in their original watch plus a predetermined dollar amount after the company inspects the trade in.  I believe this would not only keep consumers loyal, but also stimulate product sales.

Agreed. I have a fitbit blaze and I am looking to upgrade to one with GPS, specifically the ionic. It would be fantastic if fitbit could offer a trade in program, this would not only help retain loyal customers but also be more environmentally friendly as fitbit can arrange for the older trade in fitness trackers to be recycled.

Yes indeed. Maybe we'll see some sort of trade in program after the
rollout of the new Charge 3 after sales slow down. Would trade in my
Charge 2 in a heartbeat (no pun intended) for it's ability to swim with it
on.

I am hearing all good things...Fitbit Community does want to see a trade-in
program offered toward an upgrade.

Thank you! I hope this does happen; I'm sure Fitbit's sales will increase
upgrade system.

I have a Blaze, but am wanting something that can actually function in the water to track activity during swimming.

I agree as well. An exchange program would greatly influence my decision on buying another Fitbit if I could get one at a discounted price.

As previously suggested - I would welcome the idea of an upgrade/exchange program. This would help with loyalty to fitbit.

So nobody from fitbit wants to reply? What a shame.
