Tying a kids account to an adult account.

i want my 12 year to be able to use his ChargeHR. We chose it because of the time feature. This is my 8th Fitbit purchase as a gift. Instead of shutting kids out, give us the ability to set up an account for them but it has to be tied to parent or guardian account. As in I have to put my email address and password in to active the account or give permission. You are missing the boat on this one. You are an intelligent group of people. Think outside the box.

Just returned fitbit  I had bought for my 13 year old son. He was so excited and now so disappointed. He doensn't have his own email account and doesn't have his own phone -- so the only way this would have worked would be to have a family account under my name (like itunes, netflix, amazon and a thousand other companies have done). I agree, I don't think FITBIT is reading these anymore.

What other brands do people suggest that will allow for this? I've heard Garmin.

FITBIT - wake up. Not only are you losing sales now, you are losing sales from my son in the future. He will become familiar with the Garmin and will likely stick with that brand.... this is an immense marketing mistake: marketing to the kids is huge strategy.

Argh.

Fitbit responded to my email to customer care, with the following (negative) answer. I'm still amazed when I read the original comments from the Facilitator 2 years ago - when he indicated that there was no way to verify the age of the "parent" who might be the account holder for a family account. AS IF THEY VERIFY THE AGE OF ANY INDIVIDUAL USER!

Hello [name],

It was nice chatting with you regarding your feature request to upgrade the software that can have multiple family members on the same app.

We'd like you to know that we appreciate your suggestion and our product development teams are looking forward to reading and incorporating our customer's suggestions into future versions of Fitbit trackers and apps.

We have reached out our higher support team and as of the moment, we still don't have plans to upgrade the software that will allow multiple family members to use the same app but rest assured that our team are working hard to provide the needs of our customers.

You can always visit our community for any updates regarding this issue in this link [link doesn't work]

We're hoping for your understanding in this matter. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Sincerely,

France and the Fitbit Team

It would be extremely helpful to have a family account.  2 of my daughters would like to have a fitbit, but I buy them knock offs since they do not have phones to link them to.  If there was a family account available, I would track their progress through the family account via my phone.  In actually quite surprised fitbit has not created this feature yet since they have fitbits specifically created for kids now.  I believe this is a great growth opportunity for the company.  It would increase business and expand the client base.

Please consider making a fitness app for kids 12 and under.
