View SpO2 % in app and don't require SpO2 clock face selection during sleep to capture %

The SpO2 clock face has to be selected during sleep to view actual SpO2 % range and avg value in morning. Devices that support SpO2 DO collect the data since it shows up on a sleep graph. It's just the value doesn't appear. This is such a silly implementation. Just show the value in the app and clock face regardless of the clock face during sleep.

That's what I thought I read from that 'review'. Makes sense. Then the
bit how this can't work in older watches, which of course likely only
applies to NEW features, whether Amazon or plug in devices. Which is not
our priority.

So... the new firmware "fixes" this by adding the tracking capability requested here to the Premium subscription. How is this supposed to make people feel better about the implementation? How does Fitbit think it's a good idea to market a feature for the device and really only make it usable if you only pay for an additional subscription, without marketing the feature as requiring additional payment?

Fragwyz Jogger, I agree with you. This move is a pseudo-remedy. Again, this to me is a disappointing money grab, to make us pay for advertised features.

They were probably hoping no one would notice, since every watch comes with 6 months "free" of "premium."

When I wear my watch with the SpO2 clock face, it takes over an hour after I wake up in the morning for the SpO2 information to show up. I have tried syncing the watch/phone with no help. This is a consistent issue along with the fact that the information provided is worthless. How does this image of the clock face relate to the SpO2 info shown on the app? Where is the variation? Where was the 92% and where was the 99%?

It gets better. It only randomly shows up for me with no connection at all
to what the app does. I get a reading on the watch, nothing on the app.
Or vice versa. Once a year or two on both, but no clear connection. I've
never had premium on my Versa. I also recall, early on, that not only did
I have the mystery variance chart - once in a while, that there was another
chart lower down that showed percentage over the sleep period. That's long
gone, so one of the features I figured I paid for when I bought my versa
was only provided, once in a while, for a few weeks for me.

+1 - data should never be linked to a specific clock face.

yes, please do this.  I would vote for it, but the app doesn't seem to recognize my votes.

You dont need a clock face anyway, it shows Sp02 under health metrics!

I know it does now but when I first commented (a few days after release) it didnt

Marob

Pardon my ignorance, but where do I view health metrics? I have a Versa2.

Leonw

But my understanding is that the Fitbit it won’t collect the data unless you have an spo2 clock face installed. Is that incorrect?

It used to be like that but now you can have any clock face installed on your watch..you just go into health metrics to find the data providing you have premium

Marob

I don't have health metrics on my Versa2. Is it an app?

SunsetRunner

not sure about versa 2 but I think you have to pay for the premium

So I subscribe for $79.99 per year vs. paying $49 for a Chinese watch on Amazon that has SpO2 full time. Makes no sense to me.

unfortunately yes. however the Chinese ones are not entirely accurate. However the choice is yours

AddyRazz

Yes its all on the fitbit app under health metrics, and you can have any watch face.

When my watch now tells me that I was asleep for 7 hours, and I know that I was awake for 3 of those 7 hours, how can I trust the SpO2 to be anymore accurate?

I have to agree with Marob. You can buy a lot of other smartbands that have ECG and SpO2, and temp you can check anytime during the day. I was ready to pre-order the Sense, but I saw it only checked temp and O2 during sleep. If you pay 329$ you should be able to check any of your stats anytime you want. During this pandemic, which is not going away soon, that is important to check daily if not hourly. You can buy a smartband for 35-80$ and they can do this, but a 329$ smartband cannot. The comment about the Chinese being accurate, where do you think Fitbits are made? I was ready to pre-order, but backed off. I wear a Galaxy S3 Frontier and would upgrade to the Watch3, but it doesn't measure temp. I'm still hoping Fitbit would change the programming to add stats anytime during the day, some of the other features are really cool.
DO IT Fitbit!!! Let's see Stats ANYTIME!!!

Try this - I sleep for 8 hours, maybe a short wakeup in the middle, and
mine tells me (via the app) that I've slept from 0 to 3 hours.

Toss some dice. When I ask tech support specific questions about specific
nights, they change the subject, or tell me to do some 'test' that I've
already done several times with reported results. When I ask them why some
mornings I get a mystery SPO2 reading on the infamous watch face that has
no correlation with what the phone app reports, no explanation. I think I
used to get a graph for a few days of SPO2 levels (real, not mystery)
generated during sleep (not premium), that's gone. So to me, biggest
reason I bought a Versa - I'm still waiting for it to show up - real time
and sleep and through the day SPO2 numbers that make sense, that my doctors
can look at, and if there's a problem, that I can see that I need medical
attention. Or perhaps to just slow down. Or that something's wrong and I
should ask my doc.

So I got the 90 day trial of the premium version. So far, what it shows me in health metrics is crap. Plus it tells me that I have to wear the SpO2 clock face to get results. And the only results it give me is during sleep. An I missing something?
