Access to NFC Chip on Fitbit Ionic?

Hello,

I would like to access the NFC Chip on the Fitbit Ionic.

But unfortunately I cant find any documentation regarding the NFC capabilities.

Is it closed? Like the iPhone NFC-Chip?

Or is it open and free like a bird,... or an Android Phone?

edit: Clarification -> I actually need a NFC-Reader on the ionic...

I use the libre continuous blood glucose monitor and the sensor uses NFC to get reading. It would be great to scan with the fitbit instead of looking for the handheld reader.

Hi Jon, just wondering if there's any update on this API? If not, any idea of an ETA on the feature (or news on the feature)?

It would obviously be an important feature for Fitbit to be able to engage the developer community and create more traction with the app marketplace.
