Access to device weather app information

It would be interesting that we can read the weather data from the Fitbit Ionic, creating a Weather API.

 

Using OpenWeather for the basic data, current temperature and weather condition, is a bit annoying: registered keys, access limitation... Besides we need to request the companion this weather information, so I guess more battery drain.

 

It's (or will be) possible?

It's something we're definitely looking into, but there are legal requirements and complications to investigate further.
