To anyone having trouble installing this like I did: the Ionic itself needs to be connected to wifi to update. Because the app did not mention this in its pre-update info/instruction page, I tried three or four times to get the update to work by restarting phone/watch/app/bluetooth, but of course each time the progress bar just hung indefinitely. Could you put in a ticket to the devs to either make this more clear or remove this requirement altogether? I predict there will be a lot of frustrated devs and customers otherwise. In my opinion the app really shouldn't even start to show a progress bar if the Ionic has no wifi connection.
Thanks

You're right @dmm92 . If it wasn't for a user on this forum, I would have never known to disable my bluetooth to get my ionic updated. There's no documentation anywhere from Fitbit that says to disable the bluetooth.

WiFi is the preferred firmware installation method, you can use Bluetooth, but it's BLE and quite slow.
