Background User Activity Updates on iOS

Hi there,

We've noticed a drop in activity subscription updates for some users on iPhone devices. We tested internally with an iPhone device, ensuring that the app was still open in the background and that the app has the permissions to operate in the background. The iPhone has the latest version of the FitBit app and the FitBit Charge it was connected to has the latest firmware. We found that the only way to trigger a subscription update was to manually refresh the data by going into the app, whereas previously it would happen in the background.

Is there something we're missing to keep the background updates happening? Having searched around the forum there seems to be a range of responses from disconnecting and reconnecting the device to simply having to open the app each day.

Many thanks

Fitbit Charge isn't compatible with SDK Development. Maybe consider posting in Web Development if you're using the Web API, or a Charge/iPhone forum if you're just having problems with syncing.

Hi @d-cs  - there are many issues with the new Fitbit App, not syncing is one of them.

For more info look in "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topic in the appropriate iOS or Android app forums where you will see more fully the issues.
