Is there not a good date formatter for a specified local and format for fitbit? I was trying to import moment.js but I can't get it working...

Moment is probably too large for the device, it's pretty constrained.

 

You're best just doing something minimal like https://github.com/Fitbit/sdk-moment/blob/master/app/simple/clock.js#L21
