How do you use Sdk 4.2 for Versa 2 clock template because it won’t work

for some reason when I change the version to sdk 4.2 and the device for versa 2 it won’t work

Hi, @1545 - you can only use SDK 4.3 in Fitbit Studio as it has no backward compatibility so you will be forced to use CLI, even so it may not be possible to get full backward compatibility as the code produced, if you can get it working, may not be fully compatible with the original SDK 4.2.

However if your Versa 2 is at the latest firmware level you can use SDK 4.3. 

Also do you try using the OS simulator to compare how your clock face works.

@1545 - Fitbit Studio is being discontinued in a week or so.

If your clock face only works in the OS Simulator, which you can download from the Studio menu, it maens you need to upgrade the firmware on your watch.

It can happen at initial setup of a watch it doesn't install the latest version.

2 solutions. Wait a few days till it becomes available, or factory reset it from the watch settings menu and start setup again.

CLI is an old Command Line Interface.

To run SDK 4.2, your watch will need firmware of 35.71.6.12 or later, I think.

To run SDK 4.3, your watch will need firmware of 35.72.1.15 or later, I think.

ok but I am using Fitbit versa 2 and doesn’t the clock template support versa 3 and stuff or does it also support versa 2

@1545 - you can set it up in the package.json for which watch you wish to build and create the relevant files for the appropriate watch.

Such that the same clock face can be made to work on both Versa 2 an Versa 3.
