How long will a general app survive before getting closed by the system?

I found no documentation on how long a general app(not a clockface) on Ionic/Versa will last before it gets terminated/closed by the system and return to the clockface again? And is there a way to prevent that?

I feel this totally makes sense. I think doing some stress tests might be helpful in this case to predict if the app will be terminated by any chance.
