How to install apps from the gallery in the simulator

To fully test my clock face and application I need to be able to verify launching other apps like Weather, Calendar etc works on the simulator. Is there a way to install apps from the gallery on the simulator OS?

No, that's not possible. You'll need to test this on a real device.
