Hey everyone!

I am a CS PhD student using the Fitbit Sense for one of my projects. I am looking to create an app that collects accelerometer, gyroscope, and heart rate data, while also counting exercise repetitions in real time. From what I understand so far, the only way I can access this data is through the device SDK.

 

I have a couple of questions:

  • What is the best way to approach making this app? Should I make a watch app that collects this data while also displaying reps, and then send it to a server?
  • I have thought about using Flutter to make an app too. However, it seems that if I use Flutter, I will not be able to access this data in real time, right?

Sorry if these are trivial questions, it is my first time sitting down and developing an app from scratch 🙂
