Is there a document which describes the hierarchy of the OS and what developers have access to.

 

For instance, if an App is started the current Clock face is ended.

 

However, a Clock is not ended when Swiping up, down, left or right, or when Google Assistant is invoked or Music controls is used, or when an alarm is displayed.

 

Are there other functions like this that can run in this systems space without closing the Clock or App and do developers have access to develop such functions, for example can developers create our own Music controls etc.

Or for example, is it possible to bring up Music controls from a clock face/app? Does Music controls accept parameters on start up?
