Re: Please Help!! I need help to Opt-out of developer program and remove developer bridge from my ve

I’m not going to use the developer tools because I’m not a programmer. I only opted in so I could check it out. I have no idea how to use any of the tools so I would like to be opted out.

Hi im new at posting messages for help on the fitbit community forum.

please forgive me for the long post and if ive repeated myself.

I need help please...

I opted in to the developer version on my first fitbit versa to have a look at the developer options and software used to create clock faces.

My first fitbit versa died and i got a replacement fitbit versa under warranty.

i decided i didnt want to use the developers version of firmware on my new replacement fitbit.

I thought removing the original fitbit device i used to opt in to the developer version would opt me out of the developers version when it was removed but i was wrong.

My replacement fitbit had the option developers bridge installed to the device when i updated my new fitbit versa for the first time. and my fitbit app has an option in the menu that says Developer Menu

I would like to opt out of the developer Version and have the Developer Menu removed from my app and also the developer bridge removed from my fitbit versa.

The problem i had with my original fitbit versa happened after i opted in to the developer program.

i dont want the same problem to happen with my new fitbit versa

I do not wish to be a developer anymore. Please let me know how to opt-out of the developer program and remove the developer bridge from my fitbit versa and the developer menu from my fitbit ios app

Hi @SunsetRunner , good to see you in the community.

The developer and public FW builds are both the same version, there is no need to opt out.

Which issues are you having with your Versa that you believe are related to your developer status?

I've moved the thread to the SDK development forum as it is more relevant to your query. You should hopefully receive a better response here.

Hi,

The developer bridge is just a setting which appears on the phone and device. If you don't turn it on, then it doesn't do anything. The firmware is exactly the same, it's just your Fitbit account has a developer flag associated.

Unfortunately, we're unable to remove this flag at this time, but rest assured that it's not doing anything.

That was probably just old information while the SDK was in beta and people needed to opt out of the beta. Now the SDK functionality is included within all device firmware.

I’m going to create a new fitbit account. I’ve had the same problem on 2 different fitbits right now. I factory reset them because the developer updates made my Fitbit versa glitch and then they stopped working.

I just got my  replacement Fitbit replaced again because of this problem.

im going to create a whole new fitbit account so that the developer software and updates won’t be on my new fitbit. And I can start from scratch.

So I am having the EXACT same issue.  Once I installed Developer, I stopped getting text notifications.  I get email and calendar notifications, but not text.  I have done everything recommended by Fitbit and got nowhere ... I have done factor data resets, and still have the exact same settings and apps on my Versa with the frustrating issues of having the entire reconnecting process glitch out to the point of wanting to get rid of it completely and stop buying Fitbit products (of which I have several for my family).  So, I will now try deleting my account completely (oh, my saved data ...) and resetting my Versa, yet again, and I hope that works ... The line of "if you don't activate it, it doesn't do anything" is clearly not true.  If multiple people are having the same issue, it is a problem in the code and not and ID 10 T error
