Removal of the 10 minute threshold for active minutes

Is there a way, either in the SDK to remove the 10-minute bout threshold for active minutes. Currently, the Versa Lite only reports active minutes which are accrued in 10 minute bouts or more. However, I want to know all active minutes whether they were 1/2/3/4 minutes? My understanding is that the the device api only has a single active minutes field (https://dev.fitbit.com/build/reference/device-api/user-activity/) but I wondered if there was a way round this?

I think the current implementation of 'active minutes' is based on medical research that shows that activity needs to be sustained for at least 10 minutes before it has a significant fitness/calorific benefit. Short spurts of activity can burn energy from short-term 'storage' without requiring the cardio-vascular system to ramp up (which takes some time).

That said, there's a variety of views on the question, so an alternative implementation might be possible.

Thanks Peter.

You are right that physical activity guidelines used to suggest the activity needs to be for at least 10 minutes. However the most recent guidance (US, Canada, UK 2020) suggest that any activity of any length is healthful. So it would be interesting to capture all this time from the Versa Lite
