I have read the Ionic has a temperature sensor. Will it be exposed through an API and does it read body or environment temperature?

I'm not aware of one, can you point me to the documentation where you found that?
Thanks

Probably on some webshop page. Never mind. The formal Fitbit specs do not mention a temperature sensor.

A bit late to reply to this query, but the Fitbit Ionic does display temperature when selected on the watch face. It does not have a sensor. Whilst connected to the internet via Bluetooth or WiFi, it reads the temperature from the weather app. Hope this clarifies.

The temperature reading on the watch face is definitely from the weather app. I have tested it for the past two weeks. The manual reference to "sensor" may be explained by either: 1. It has yet to be initiated or 2. It uses an external source. The second explanation is fact at this stage. One part of the query, whether it displays body or environment temperature is straightforward, environment.
