The Fitbit App Gallery is Open for Submissions

It's time. Are you as excited as we are? Developers are now welcome to submit their Fitbit OS apps and clock faces to the Fitbit App Gallery for review. We're happy to reach this next chapter in our Fitbit SDK story, and look forward to showcasing your work on our platform.

Approved apps will be publicly visible in the Fitbit App Gallery to our global user base before the holidays, with the public release of Fitbit OS 1.1. Be on the lookout for that milestone---we're excited for it!

Is there a way to delete an app? I created an app twice by mistake.

I've done the submission, got approval, and then published my app. I can't see any sign of it (or any others) in my Android Fibit app. It just displays the standard pre-installed stuff.

The gallery hasn't been made available to users yet, that will be happening at a later date.

Hi, I am trying to upload a watch face for an approval but I am getting an error message "app id already in use". Not sure how I can change or correct this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try this:

In Fitbit Studio:

  1. rename package.json to package.txt
  2. delete the appUUID line
  3. rename package.txt to package.json
  4. build and re-submit.

Thank you Jon, it worked.

I've submitted an app for review. It says I can share my app with the link provided, but the link doesn't seem to work. Am I doing something wrong?

Is there any way I can view apps or clock faces that have already been submitted/approved ahead of the public release of the App Gallery? I don't to submit a project that someone else may have already done.

Do we know what date the App Gallery is going to be opened to the public?

How long does an app review last in general? Does anybody have experiences with that?

When I submitted mine (I think) it went through in less than 24 hours. It certainly wasn't long.

I have submitted 2 clock faces on 22 December and still waiting for an approval. It seems that currently there is a problem with the process. Yes, in the past it has been approved with in 24 hours.

Me too and at least two other developers have been waiting since december. Watch faces and apps. Maybe that has something to do with the holidays ...

We are sorry about the delays. The approval process is delayed due to holidays. We are discussing with the team to ensure that future holidays won't cause this kind of delay. Please let me know in private if your app or clock faces are not approved in the next two days...
