Update to Latest CLI

I've been using the CLI for a couple of weeks now - it's great. I'm aware that there's been a new release. How do I update to the latest version, or even tell what version I'm currently on?

 

I'm using Visual Studio Code and latest release of Node.js.

From the command line within your project directory, try 'npm update'.

 

I'm guessing that this has to be done for each project.
