User Preference on Settings page

I'm working on a ClockFace that also comes with settings page on the phone. The challenge that I'm currently experiencing is on how to get user preferences on the actual settings page?

Indeed, I can read user preferences on the device by importing 'user-settings', but this does not work in the `settings/index.jsx`.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

If we classifying this question in terms of API, than I would argue that this is more like Settings API question.
