problem connecting Simulator to Studio

Hi there,

I am trying to install an app on OS simulator , I follow the instruction here :

https://dev.fitbit.com/getting-started/

3.Installing

If you're using the simulator, you just need to launch it and login with your Fitbit account.

If you're using a Fitbit device, you need to enable the Developer Bridge. On the watch, go to Settings and tap Developer Bridge, then wait until it says Connected to Server.

The simulator or device should now be connected to the developer bridge. Next you need to select it from the devices toolbar within Fitbit Studio. Once you see a green indicator, you can click Run to launch the clock face on your device.

I am confused that do I need to just launch the simulator and login?

or

should I also connect the simulator to the developer bridge?

I launch the simulator and login with same account , but nothing happens , no green indicator , no device to select!

please advice what should I do to install my app on simulator?

tnx

When you launch the simulator, it automatically connects to the developer bridge and simulates a phone and a Fitbit device. If you go to the "settings" tab in the sim, you should see that it's connected.

If you're connected then you should be able to select those simulated devices in Fitbit Studio.

If the sim is connected, but Studio doesn't see the devices after a refresh, then ensure you're logged in with the same account in Studio and the simulator. You can log out of www.fitbit.com and simulator, then try again.

I launched the Sim but in Setting tab I see :

* Device bridge is disconnected

* Companion bridge is disconnected

I log in to both Sim and Studio with same account

I did logging out and in again , but still I get the same Disconnected message in Setting tab...

Have you tried quitting the simulator and starting it again?

Can you also collect logs and send them to me via a private message?

Logs:
OS X: ~/Library/Logs/Fitbit OS Simulator/log.log
Windows: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Fitbit OS Simulator\log.log

Hi there,

I wondered if you get the private message that I sent, containing log.log events?

did you find any solution to help me connect simulator to studio?

Sorry for the delay. From the logs it looks like you don’t have working network/DNS or something. Is this running in a virtual machine or could there be a firewall blocking traffic?

I have the same problem.

I'm not running in a virtual machine. I have a working internet access.

The simulator (even after reboot and relog) always shows both disconnected messages.

My watch has a connection error 1006.

Any advice?

It's on the FitBit end, I just moved the moon to get things to work.. nothing.. and looks like multiple of us are having the same issue.

So now we all wait...

Doing other productive things.... guess I'll go make use of this watch hah..

As soon as I sent that.. things connected.. not sure if it'll stay up or not but, I'm green again on both.

Hey,

I am trying to test my app on the Fitbit simulator. I don't have a device right now.

I am not able to connect the device bridge. Can you suggest what steps do I need to follow?

Have you authorised your Fitbit account for development? I think you need a real device to do this.

I am having the same issue.  I have used the simulator before, but it no longer connects.  Anyone know of a solution?

There is a problem with the certificate, which if you check the settings tab in the OS Simulator shows "device bridge is disconnected".

If this is your problem try the work around posted here

Which is you have to copy the "cacert.pem" [given in the post] to each of the OS Simulator watches folders.

Has anyone managed to solve this? I can see the simulator for the phone but not the device. Then in the Fitbit Simulator all I see is this error:

Chayemor_0-1637507922201.png

It's easier to develop with the simulator than loading it on to my device since hovering on the simulator shows me the coordinates of the screen.

Has anyone managed to fix this?
