Has anyone updated Sense 2 latest FW?

ANSWERED

Hi, I just got notification of a new firmware.  I am currently on 60.20001.210.26.  Have anybody upgraded successfully to the new firmware?  If so, what new features are there?  I don't want to upgrade if there is no benefit and potentially end up like the fiasco that happened not too long ago.

@phatbitzr - found this new firmware 214.24

See the Sense 2 section.

Curiously there's no mention of the forced battery firmware for the Sense & Versa 3.

@Guy_- I already have 210.26.  I have notification for a new firmware that is newer than that, it just doesn't tell me what the version is.  That is why I indicated firmware that comes after 210.26.

Correct, but not seen any information yet since that announcement.

Unfortunately as you point out the message doesn't show the version of the new firmware, or current one, which makes it difficult for anyone to know what is going on or to perform research.

Thanks for posting about a new firmware.

@Guy_Thanks. Strange how they didn't announce this update and pin it on top of the forum, like they usually do.

What I don't see for the Sense 2 is it doesn't have the secure bluetooth feature of the Charge 6 and Inspire 3.

Anyway, seems like the only change is a indicators on top of the display.  What a long rollout period for such minuscule change.

@phatbitzr - I would tread very carefully, some new problems appearing in the forums (Sense 2 & Versa 4) may be related to the update, and if your watch is working normally it is unwise to jinx it.

If you have problems hoping it is resolved by a firmware update is likely to be a disappointment.

@phatbitzr   Fitbit announced it in the Community Blog, a change from the previous way of doing things.   Trackers and smartwatches have completely different operating systems.  This might explain why the Bluetooth security feature update is only for the Charge 6 and Inspire 3.

Oh they changed things. The eliminated functions like the ability to edit Exercise Type when Fitbit Sense gets it wrong. And they eliminated the ability to edit (i.e. correct) distance swam after doing laps - which the Sense ALWAYS miscalculates. So I can't change in my FitBit app where it is saying in 45 minutes I swam 65 meters (less than 200 feet) when really I swam 1200 meters.

The big change is it'll cause you battery problems.

I updated my Sense 2 and now I’m missing several days of exercise over the last several weeks. The weird thing is that the zone minutes, cardio load, miles, etc. are all still accurate. The other weird thing is that the data is only missing on my iPhone app and not my Galaxy app. I’m glad I have my watch synched to two phones.

I completely agree!

So far after the recent firmware & software update a few days ago, I’m happy that my Sense 2 no longer glitches & reboots 🙂😇 while in standby timekeeping mode or whether I’m working out during my Zumba or HIIT classes at the gym. It works & behaves like a champ 😅
