Sense 2 was not syncing so deleted device from Bluetooth and the app. On trying to add device the sense 2 generates a 4 digit code that is copied into the app but then “something has gone wrong” appears

this has been repeated 6 times with the same error message in the app and an X on the device

any ideas anyone?

Hi @Brad1916. Welcome to the community forums.

Thank you for sharing this information with me regarding the difficulty with your Sense 2. Thank you for trying to set it up on your own.

Please try the steps below:

  • Check if by any chance your phone's Bluetooth shows the Sense 2 as a connected device. If so, please unpair/remove it.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Sense 2 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Sense 2.

If you can't get started with your Sense 2, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Try using your mobile data instead of being connected to wifi. That is what worked for me yesterday.

For future, remove the tracker from the phones Bluetooth. Do not remove from the fitbit app. If your app can not communicate with the tracker, it most likely won't be able to communicate to set up.

You have all ready tried

  • I'll assume that the fitbit app is only on your phone.
  • Removing tracker from Bluetooth
  • Restarted phone and tracker
  • Turned both off, then powered up.
  • Logged out/in on the Fitbit app

Things I would try @Brad1916

  • Clear the Fitbit App Cache
  • Through the phone settings - Apps - Stop the app
  • Try to sync
  • Clear the Fitbit App data. This will log you out of the Fitbit app
  • Try to setup.
  • You may want to restart devices.

This the only thing that worked for me after looking at all the forums and almost giving up: https://www.reddit.com/r/fitbit/comments/12614p2/fitbit_sense_2_if_youre_stuck_on_the_logo_loop/http...

[SOLUTION]:

Fitbit Sense 2: If you're stuck on the logo loop and it looks like it keeps on rebooting - Factory Hard Reset
App: Check if by any chance your phone's Bluetooth shows the Sense as a connected device. If so, please unpair/remove it. Remove the Sense from your Fitbit account and your phone's Bluetooth settings. Force quit the Fitbit app.

FitBit Sense 2 Device: Hold the side button until the logo blinks full and hollow Release the button and Press down/hold immediately then you will see the FitBit Logo with a Circle around it then release, a further 35-second pause until the logo goes out when your "Sense" should preformed a Factory Hard reset - Back to the Beginning where you chose the languages.

*Note if you didn't hold down the button long enough you would see a red X in the end that just shows you restarted it not a Hard Factor Reset.

____

**This "quick release and press again" after seeing the first one or two flashing logos is what got me to the logo with the circle, which indicates a true hard factor reset. This is the missing step. Not the red X.
