Caution: Fitbit Sense 2 Stuck in Boot Loop After Firmware Update Attempted

Hi everyone,
Just a heads-up for Sense 2 users - be cautious with the latest firmware update. My device got stuck in a boot loop during the update process, rendering it completely unusable.

Here’s what happened:

  • The device kept flashing the Fitbit logo, then going black, over and over again.

  • It wouldn’t sync, restart, or respond to manual factory reset steps.

  • After hours of troubleshooting with support, they confirmed that the update bricked the device, and I now have to send it back for a warranty replacement.

Tips to avoid this issue:

  • Hold off on updating your firmware until you see confirmation that the issue is resolved.

  • If you proceed with the update, make sure your Sense 2 is fully charged and stable (don’t move it far from your phone or Wi-Fi).

  • Do not unpair the device if you run into issues - it may make it harder to recover.

If you’ve experienced the same problem, I recommend reaching out to Fitbit support right away and asking about warranty options.
