I just purchased my sensor to fitbit and March so I haven't even had it for about a 1/2 a year. And the screen is cracked all the way across. Not sure how it happened. What are your suggestions for fixing it? Or do I have to purchase a new one?

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Angiebean76!
Sad to hear what has happened to your Sense 2. Tempered glass as the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 used for your Sense 2 is more scratch resistant as regular glass, but on the other hand it is more prone for getting shattered. So most of the times it's an external impact that leads to a cracked glass.
Nevertheless I'd suggest contacting Fitbit support to see what they can do for you:
I'll keep my fingers crossed.
