I received this smartwatch as a gift and it lasted about 18 months before it started shutting down randomly. If I plugged it in, it would restart and showed ample battery charge, and it would last about 5 minutes before it shut down again. I contacted Fitbit but after having me perform various actions, they concluded that it was irreparable. There was nothing they could do to fix it and since it was outside of warranty, they offered me a 35% discount on a new product. I told them to keep their discount as there was no way I was going to spend C$300 for a product that only lasted 18 months. While this may be an isolated incident, I won't be buying another Fitbit product.

Hi @prbnearnorth - this seems like a common occurrence with the latest firmware.
If you look through the forums you will see others with the same issue, such as
Unfortunately if support got you to factory reset the watch you will install the same firmware.
Possibly if you can break the setup process after a factory reset so it doesn't update, it may work but you presumably you can only do this while charging.
Factory resets can also fail, best to be patient, but may be worth a last effort.

Hello Space Racer: Thanks for the suggestion. I will give it another look. Too bad there wasn't a way to roll back the updates.

@prbnearnorth - yes unfortunately many companies have lost sight of upward compatibility, backup and restore capability.
Hope you manage, be patient with any factory reset.

Not sure what they did, but the latest update also had the same effect on my last Sense 2. I was stupid enough to buy a new one as I thought it was a problem with my specific watch and it was just out of warranty. the charging at the moment seems to work even I just already saw the first Red Cross again, but since the last update my watch would't connect my card (which was perfectly working with the last Sense 2 with the old software for 2-3 years) via Google wallet anylonger. It's all such a mess and I'm more than annoyed. Hope they find a fix and roll it out soon as I see the same issue multiple times in the forum.
