Distance displayed on app wildly wrong

There is a recorded distance in the today summary (eg. 8.9 miles). However when I select the distance in the app, and open the distance screen (for today) the distance doesn’t show but I get a totally wild value. I suspect this relates to steps as I see for example “14,576 of 3.11 miles” where 3.11 is my daily target. I’ve tried customer support but frankly they were no help. Can anyone on the forum provide suggestions?

We're getting similar crazy results. I don't think it's showing steps though. At this moment, I have 2,097 steps and the distance page shows I have 1,589.7 of 4 miles. "You exceeded your daily goal. Way to go!" My wife gets similar crazy results. I can't imagine what that number is supposed to represent. It's clearly an error in the app.
