Edit elevation per floor

Is there a way to edit the elevation required to count a floor.  I have read that the elevation is 10ft and doesn't work in my house.  If I go up 2 flights of stairs it counts as one floor.  I think in my house the distance is 8'.

You mentioned going down the stairs.  Nobody gets credit for going down stairs anyway.  It's only going up stairs.

You cannot edit floor height, but you can try making sure your arms are lowered at the bottom and raising them over your head at the top, artificially add a bit of height to a single flight of stairs.

Hello @Nefarious854 and welcome to the Community.  I'm sorry, but you can't change the programming for the altimeter.  It's very important that you go up the stairs in a smooth movement and don't hold the handrails.  I don't think your distance is 8' or you live in an old house with 7' ceilings.

I used a Fitbit One (worn on torso) for several years and its floor counting was spot on in my house with 8' ceilings.  All of my wrist Fitbits have undercounted my floors.  I think the altimeter is very, very sensitive.  Certain arm movements or holding handrails seem to interfere with floor counting.

I did measure my steps and the first rise is 6.5" and the other rises are
7" for 14 steps. So the elevation is just 8'. It turns out the room that
is under the top of the stair end is also down 2 steps.

This is just a problem of software engineers making assumptions to make
their job easier. There are lots of parameters to set to make this device
useful and this should be another one. It's too hard to remember to raise
my arm far enough before I go down the stairs and to raise it when I
approach the end of the stairs going up. I guess I won't be able to take
advantage of this feature.

Thanks for your response. Your response is how I figured out to actually
measure my stairs. It works sometimes, but not all of them. I just can't
see myself doing that every time I go up the stairs and when I go down
them. It would be so easy to have this as an editable parameter. At least
for now I will see if I can just remove the feature from my today page.

I appreciate your response, thanks again.
