Exercise app immediately crashes on Sense 2

This has been happening to me too ever since the last Fitbit outage a few weeks ago. I reset the FitBit Sense 2 to factory, and set it up again once the Fitbit outage was resolved. It did a Fitbit update on the device, and since then I have seen this behavior. I will manually start the exercise app for Spinning, and proceed with my workout. After a few min I will check my Fitbit to see my heart zone, but it is only showing the watch face. I will start the exercise on the Fitbit again, and a few min later its back on the watch face screen again. After several times repeating this (4-5 times yesterday), it then stays on the exercise screen until the end of the exercise, but this is incredible annoying and it is causing my workout to be inaccurately recorded.

Same works with turning mobile data off. Turning BT off is annoying as you can not for example use your headphones.

If you use you ear phones during exercise, It can be annoying.  I chatted with Fitbit and told this temp. Fix.  Could be a sync issue with the app.  I find it slow to sync.

I have this issue since the end of February. Done all the tests, contacted support few times. Their answer was: we are working on the solution to this problem. And now we have the end of April. This is how the support works :))

I also have the problem with stress mamagement function. It started at the same time. Do you experience any issues with stress events detection?

@sparkles4   Your posts on the same issue are being merged with your original post.  You can reply to your original post.  New threads add confusion.

No.   Started before that.  Fitbit told me to do a Factory reset.  Didn't help.  The first week or too I had no issues.

My exercise is stair climbing.  It's does not have the auto detection feature.  15 mins is the longest time the mode lasts before it crashes.  I tried setting up walking as an exercise.  Still had this issue.

No problems with Stress management feature.

Before you start your exercise mode on your device.  Turn off Bluetooth.  Keep it off during your exercise.  That way it won't revert to clockface.  Make sure to turn Bluetooth back on after your exercise.  You will have to do that each time.  Temporary fix untill Fitbit fixes this bug.

Yes, I'm doing that, thanks, and it's mostly ok now. I'm using MacroDroid to turn off Bluetooth automatically when I go out of range of my home WiFi, and to turn it back on fifteen minutes after I return (by which time automatic tracking will have stopped).

I shouldn't have to do this, and Fitbit/Google need to fix this problem. In the six months I've owned the Sense 2, I've had to do two full factory resets, which seems to be the only way to solve a battery drain problem. If I wanted a 48 hour or less battery life I'd have bought a Pixel Watch! This might be my last Fitbit, sadly.

I had this nonsense happening to me as well (sense 2).  In my case, the only full fix was to abandon my original Fitbit data and setup a new Fitbit account under a new email address.  Once I did that, the issue was resolved with the exercise app crashing. The problem is there is something wrong with the database Fitbit has associated with your account.  They bonked your data.

Once I got that resolved, shortly there after I could no longer setup Google Wallet.  Response from Fitbit is "we know about the issue, we'll take note to improve our products next time, we have no idea when we will get around to fixing it for you, leave us alone".

What a joke; waste of time, waste of money, I've have had it.  It's a piece of ....

For what I’ve spent on this Fitbit, is absolutely atrocious. Customer service keep fobbing me off. Im training professionally and this is ruining everything I cannot tell you how frustrated I am over this. It isn’t good enough. I bought mine for Christmas, had to be returned within a week because straight out of the box the sense 2 constantly resettled itself

highly disappointed

Dear Lizzy,

After the newest Fitbit firmware update this issue is still unresolved.. Workaround turning BT off works but this is really frustrating..

I am using Iphone 13, iOS 16.5

If the problem is with database, is it possible to purge my data and factory reset the account not losing yearly paid Premium features?

@LizzyFitbit  I have the same issue after trying all trouble shooting procedures after researching this forum for fe days now

It's been a few months since a lot of us have been reporting and this should be addressed by Fitbit at the earliest.

Let me know if you have any solution.

I am having issues with my new sense 2 stopping recording my cycling because l have stopped for a break. My other fitbits were fine with this. It is really annoying me that my rides are being recorded in bits. I can't see any way if changing the settings like l used to be able to.
