Exercise data

Hello, somehow I managed to download the exercise data for those which were outside (gps), for eg bike, hike. It is not straightforward though.  But for indoor activities like treadmill or stationary bike is there a way to download such data? Thanks

Hi @shabbial

Unfortunately with Fitbit it is only possible to export exercise tcx files with GPS data.

You could try this workaround that DC Rainmaker posted in his blog (here). This will import the exercise data to Strava but then you should be able to export it from Strava as a tcx file. I've tried it in the past and it worked, but that was quite a long time ago.

Let me know if you have any success if you do try that. Thanks.

Thanks for the help, I will try. However it seems now that there is not desktop version in fitbit even this export to strava won't work. In the app I see no buttons in the non gps activities that I could click to do anything. Anyway, will have a deeper look. Thanks!

From what I remember the 3rd part website would list the activities once you linked your Fitbit account. So you shouldn't need to export manually. You will select the activities on the 3rd party website and it would handle the rest.

Thanks. In the meantime I found an 'unofficial dashboard for fitbit' that makes easy to download exercise data. But it also does it for gps activities, for all other it creates a file which still does not include non gps. I will also look at the one you mentioned. thanks.
