The Fitbit Sense 2 seemed to be a great watch, but we got turned off with the Premium subscription which would run us $13/month in Canada.
To our mind, Premium features like recipes, mindfulness sessions, etc., are frivolous and fun features, which is fine for some users. BUT ECG analysis is a VITAL statistic, a VITAL health aid, and a key feature as to why many want the Sense 2.
This is the reason we wanted the watch in the first place, and to pay a monthly Premium to use this very important feature, turned us off. Sending our data out to a cloud, and than charging us for analysis doesn't work for us.
We decided to buy a Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro, which is more money, but we don't mind paying more up front and not have to pay a subscription fee. The Watch5 Pro does ECG on demand and continuous, and also does blood pressure, and a host of other goodies. We happen to have a Samsung phone which is a necessity for the Samsung Watch.
This forum has provided us with a lot of information on the Sense 2. Thanks for all your input. It was much appreciated.

@JWMG The ECG doesn't require Premium. My husband doesn't have Premium and checks his regularly.

@JWMG I am also considering a Samsung, but for different reasons. The Sense 2 just has too many features that don't work or are unreliable or innacurate. I've also been frustrated with the failure of Google to support their products. I am toying with the Samsung Galaxy 5, or the Whoop! band. They are so different it is hard to compare them. I don't need a lot of the glitzy stuff on the Samsung, but then again Whoop seems to lack a few things that I suspect I would miss. I had hoped that Sense 2 would offer me the best of both worlds, but I'm finding it really doesn't have much for me. Basic health tracking functions don't work, and geez, what is a health or fitness tracker if it has no idea what your heart rate is? I appreciate your assessment of the Samsung

Hi.
The FitBit Sense 2 does two kinds of ECG - one is On Demand, the other is Continuous Monitoring. I believe you need Premium subscription for the Continuous Monitoring.
Thanks for your response,
