Fitbit China not connecting to Fitbit Sense 2

I recently got a Sense 2 for my grandmother who usually lives in China and is visiting the states for summer. I found that her iPhone can only install the Fitbit China app as its region is set to mainland china. In addition, the Sense 2 can not connect because the app apprently needs to be updated in order for the pairing to happen. I don't see an update button and also don't see an update in the App store. An older watch like the Versa 3 would work but the newer Sense 2 and Versa 4 need a newer app. Is there any fix to this or is Fitbit China the limitation from connecting to these newer watches.

Hi @lee213 - the new watches work with the older versions of the normal Fitbit App, but some functions, like initial setup won't work.

The Fitbit China app may have limitations outside China.

However there may be a simpler explanation, try

Logout of the Fitbit App and swipe off the active window and in Android clear the storage cache and force stop it and then restart the phone.

Restart the watch by holding the button for 10 seconds till it vibrates and the logo appears and wait for it to start.

Login and wait for any pair, link or Fixit prompts and sync.

This may possibly work in your case too.
