Fitbit Sense Not tracking anymore - is there a software fault?

I purchased the Fitbit sense 2 on the 31st Jan, and up until last week Saturday it worked absolutely fine. For over a week the device stopped tracking my variable heart rate and breathing, my sleep scores were basic with no insight and my readiness scores dropped so low as it wasn't picking up the heart rate - so after 3 days of going back and forth with Fitbit on their live chat, resetting, deleting and reinstalling the app nothing worked.

I returned the watch and reordered a replacement (spent over £400 at this point) and after 3 days of wearing the fault is even worse on the new device, no sleep insight (apparently I slept for only 4 hours one night and 5 last night which is rubbish as I was in bed from 9 through to 7). I do not have sleep aponia so there is no reason for these watches to not work. Because they switch on and show heart rate the retailer claims both work when I know they do not. I am so annoyed as I have now been left out of pocket for a watch that does absolutely nothing. This has to be a software malfunction as I cannot understand why this would happen, my versa never did this and I just wish I brought a new strap for my old watch instead of this - Apple here I come 😞

I have the exact same problem with my sense 2.
