Google Wallet Sense 2 not working

ANSWERED

I've tried repeatedly to set up Google wallet on my Sense 2. I always get the same, nondescript error "Something went wrong Please try again later." Google Wallet works on my phone, but the sense 2 will not accept the registration of my debit card at all.

What's stopping this?

Is your bank listed in https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/technology/google-apps/banks?

It's a known issue that not all cards supported in Google Wallet are being supported in Google Wallet for Fitbit.

I have 4 cards which all of them work in Google Wallet, but I only find 1 of them working in Fitbit. One of my cards is actually mentioned in the above list, but it's not working either.

Hope it helps.

Hi and thanks.

I feared it would be something mad like this. This is just another thing to add to the list of reasons to move to another watch.

When I click on the Google wallet tile, it goes to the page where I am supposed to login to Google but the page will not scroll down for me to do the login so I can't use Google Wallet

It turns out my bank is supported:

So the problem isn't supported bank. Back to Fitbit I guess.

I have a support case open for this and I'm waiting to hear back. I will report the outcome here.

@Mcav75 It’s likely they would give you very standard answer. But please keep us updated. For my own experiences, it’s easier to open a few more credit cards until one works.

I'll certainly post back. My debit card and bank is on the list of supported cards, and I've set some pretty simple terms of "solution or refund under conditions of fit for purpose".

But yes I imagine they'll chance their arm with some stock garbage.

They are apparently working on it, which is not a solution.

I have an update which I feel is important to share.

First, and most importantly, Google and Fitbit advertise this device as having Google Wallet support.

Second, here is the full list of supported banks. I can't share the link because this message system is ridiculous - google "fitbit sense 2 google wallet supported banks"

Crucially, Fitbit has just acknowledged that they know it doesn't work, and they will not have a fix in the immediate future. This contravenes current trading  and advertising standards in the UK.

Here's what I got:
"We appreciate you getting in touch with us about your Sense 2 unable to add the card on Google wallet.
Thanks for letting us know about this issue. We’re aware of it, but may not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future.
We'll continue to monitor the situation, and keep our team informed of the impact to you and other customers.
We understand that this isn't the resolution you're hoping for, but rest assured we're always working to improve our products.
We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.
If you have any other questions about your Fitbit device or services, visit help.fitbit.com"

It's important to know your rights as a consumer - If your device is sold on the basis of a specific advertised feature and that feature has been acknowledged to not work as intended, you are entitled to have the produced repaired to work as intended, and failing that, a full refund.

I have an update to this. Fitbit has just offered me a full refund on my Sense 2, and they couldn't even get this right. Under UK consumer law, the watch doesn't perform as advertised (my bank is listed as supported but it doesn't work), making the watch unfit for purpose. I requested a compensatory refund and they agreed. After that, they changed their mind and be asked for the watch back after which they would send me a refund BY PAYPAL!

I wish I could tell you I was joking.
