"Important: Currently, some cards that are supported on Google Wallet with your Android phone may not be supported on Google Wallet for Fitbit."

Best Answer

@RonaldM also it looks like Versa 4 users don't get any updates yet.

For what its worth there was a new firmware already available and reviewed on Android Authority on October 21st with this statement:
About this Fitbit Sense 2 review: I tested the Fitbit Sense 2 for five days. It was on firmware 60.200001.184.16

What's the benefit of Google Pay Over FitbitPay?

Best Answer

Not really, my girlfriend get this update yesterday. My Sense 2 until now not.

Best Answer

So I contacted support and was told that the update has only been released to 10% of users so far. They also said I should received the firmware update "soon", but couldn't give me any estimates (as per usual... they sure love to answer everything with "soon").

Best Answer

@mocochang Thanks for the update! Fitbit should trademark "soon" very soon.

This update is a non-event for me. Seeing as the Sense 2 has endless issues and broken features, there is zero chance of me trusting my credit card transactions on the Sense 2. Interesting that tracking your payment transactions they found time for to add.
I can see it now, the Sense 2 taking $5,000 from my account and not $50, with this Fitbit "support" page stating:

"Thank you for your comment on missing funds. Feel free to vote on a new feature to delete the correct $ amounts from your bank account."

Just updated to firmware 60.20001.184.52....still no Google Wallet....so it looks like its country specific

As Google wallet is available on Sense 2, is Google wallet available in India?

Isn't this something a Google search would settle?

Anyway it doesn't seem like Google Wallet is supported in India. Theres Google Pay in India and that's it.

@Sparhawk69 it took a day after the firmware update before I received an notification in the Fitbit app (version 3.71) about the option to change to Google Wallet. So I'm not sure what is influencing it and how long it takes to get the notification.

And as long Fitbit doesn't share some release info it's all a guessing game..

You will have to click on Firbit Pay in the settings and you will receive a prompt that asks if you want to switch to Wallet.

Happened to me on my sense 2. Very annoying that my cards supported by Fitbit Pay are no longer supported in Google wallet for Fitbit. But they are in my phone's GW and working! And now I cannot return to Fitbit pay. Feels like a trap.

I am curious, if you have a Sense 2 and go back to a Sense 1, do you keep Google Wallet or go back to Fitbit Pay, as it is an Fitbit app change not a device change? Google states in the FAC, once you go to Google Wallet you loose the ability to go back to Fitbit Pay, but it is not clear if you switch to a legacy (before Google device)?

Another Question? If you factory reset, does it default back to Fitbit Pay or if the device or your Profile locked to Google Pay? As this might hurt the resale market?

I'm thinking that was to fix a bunch of bugs

So I switched to Google Wallet. Turns out my Credit Card doesn't allow tap to pay through Google Wallet. But does allow it through Fitbit pay.

No way to go back? I'm screwed?

In theory, yes. I'm not sure whether performing a factory reset could bring the FitbitPay option back again.
