Got a new phone, problems connecting Sense 2?

Just got a new phone, Pixel 9a my Pixel watch seems to be connected to Fitbit, but it can't find my Sense 2, so I've gone through the add more devices, and it wants to REPLACE my Pixel watch. I don't ant to replace it, I want them both connected like they were before.

I've tried resetting the sense 2 watch, and still the same, it wants to REPLACE.

Hi @Technaudio. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you're doing well.

Let me share with you some details about using multiple Fitbit devices on one account.

Please note that, you can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit Gallery to one account. For Fitbit Sense series and Google Pixel Watch series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time. I appreciate your undertanding.

One solution may be to create another account in order to link your second device. For reference see How do I set up my Fitbit device? > Using multiple Fitbit devices on one account

I don't want to create another account. That would be silly to have two accounts. I want them both connected to the same account, as they were with my previous phone (pixel 6) for the last 3 or 4 months.

I could use either one without having to change anything in the app or on the watches.

@Technaudio   Somehow you managed to get something that no one else has.  All I can say is that you were lucky while it lasted.  I disagree with the recommendation to create a second account.  We can’t combine data.  You must replace one with the other.

See now, the thing is, I HAVE had two watches connected to my account, so to say you can't is simply not true. I don't know how it happened, but it did.

Clearly, it IS possible to have more than one watch connected to the account, I'll explain how it happened:

I had (still have) a Pixel watch. Some time later (about a year ago) I bought a Fitbit Sense 2, then had to replace the Pixel watch connected to the account when i got the Sense 2.

A few months ago, one of the metal contacts came off the back of the Sense 2, so I went through warranty process and returned it. Then i reconnected the PW to the account and used that while the S2 was away.

When the repacement S2 arrived, i switched it on, the phone 'saw' it and connected to it and added it to by fitbit account/profile. It did not ask if I wanted to REPLACE the PW. So, I ended up with both watches connected. Which was great, I generally wore the S2 in the week, at work, then the PW at weekends.

Everything worked. I could just pick up either watch and wear it, and everything. just. worked.

Got a new phone - P9a, did the backup/restore thing from old to new phone, but for reasons unknown to me, neither watch was syncing to Fitbit app, they were both showing on the devices screen (I wish I had screenshotted this!!) when trying to reconnect each one to the app, the device shown on the devices screen disappeared, I managed to reconnect the PW, but i could not reconnect the S2 to the app without doing a factory reset and starting from scratch - and then being forced to replace the connected PW with the S2.

So, in conclusion, it has been proven that it IS possible to have two devices on one account. How? I don't know.

@Technaudio a few years ago, there was chatter on Reddit about people adding a Pixel Watch and a Fitbit device to the same Fitbit account. I never tried it, but apparently it did work for some people.
