How can I add my Sense 2 without replacing my Inspire 2?

I'm a long-time FitBit user. I have an Inspire 2 I'd like to keep using, but wanted to explore your smartwatches. I was told by FitBit that I can have two devices on my account and use them interchangeably, so I got a Sense 2 and I'm trying to install it. It keeps asking me if I want to "replace" my inspire 2. No, I'd like to keep the Inspire 2 active and use the Sense 2, and then eventually switch back and forth between them. How do I do this without "replacing" my Inspire 2?

(I have a Flex and Alta on my account also, and it didn't tell me to replace them when I added the new devices.)

@bparker unfortunately, there is not a way to do that. It is possible to have more than one of the older devices on your account, but not with newer Fitbits, like the Inspire 2 and the Sense 2. To add the Sense 2 to your account you have to agree to let the app replace your Inspire 2.

Hi @bparkerThanks for stopping by, I hope you're doing well. Hi @alexthecat, excellent input.

It is true that certain Fitbit devices can sync to the same account for a complete view of your activity. However, Fitbit devices that use the Fitbit Gallery can't cohabitate in one account. For Fitbit Charge series, Fitbit Inspire series, Fitbit Luxe, Fitbit Sense series, Fitbit Versa series, and Google Pixel Watch series, only one of these devices can be connected to your account at a time.

I wish you a happy holiday season!

That really stinks. So, if I want to keep the Inspire 2's data, would replacing it with the Sense 2 erase everything?

Also, would it be advisable to disconnect and reinstall whenever I want to switch devices? Or perhaps having a second FitBit account for my other device? I really want to wear my new Sense 2 as my main tracker, but want to be able to switch to my thinner, less conspicuous Inspire 2 when I want to be professional or wear a watch. I've been wearing my FitBit products pretty much constantly for 10 years, and don't really want to go without when wearing a regular watch.

@bparker all your historical Fitbit data is saved with your account. Changing to a new device will not erase anything. Just be sure to sync your Inspire 2 before you replace it with the Sense 2. That way you will be sure that all the data from the Inspire 2 is transferred to your account.

If you want a single, continuous record of your Fitbit data, you will need to use one account and replace your device in the Fitbit app whenever you want to switch. If you don't need all your history in one place, it's possible to have more than one Fitbit account. I have two and that works well for me.

Ok, thanks! It's too bad they don't let us put multiple devices on the same account. I'm a tech guy that makes software similar to this, and it seems to me that this restriction is a purposeful thing - and I don't see, from a business standpoint, how that's beneficial.
