How to stop Sleep mode on Sense 2?

I hate this watch with a passion. Somewhere around 10pm the regular watch face is replaced with a black screen with the time in red.  I've googled. I've reset.  Changed settings. Turned watch off then on.  Nothing works.  I'd return except it's out of the return window. My old versa light worked better and was cheaper.  Thus watch is garbage.

I have a fitbit versa lite.  It died so after doing homework and reading watch reviews by do called industry experts I decided to go with the sense 2.  Money was tight but I wanted a watch similar to my versa lite but with ecg.  I  have a kardia mobile but using it when you're in bed and want a quick reading wasn't practical.  So I get the watch.  Took days to get it to synch and then had issues with the ecg not working. Finally get it together.  Got a nicer cuter watch band and thought it ready.  Well imagine my surprise to find not one of the 3rd party apps I had before could be used.  Neither could ANY of the apps listed in the apps area. After reading here this watch doesn't allow 3rd party apps.  What???  $250 and it's not really a smartwatch.  I can't get the sleep mode to turn off either despite a reset and googling.  So fitbit eats to focus on health and fitness of the watch?  Well I'd like to determine what health apps I prefer. Not fitbit.  I can't even put a flashlight on the watch!  I lost my med ID app.  They app is amazing and to me VERY necessary.  This watch is nothing but expensive junk. I'd return but I'm out of the return window.   Bring back 3rd party apps.  So a simple app upgrade. Keep customers happy.  Right now I wish for my excellent versa lite.  I'm going shopping for a Garmin.  I don't even want to look at this sense watch anymore.

I already read the instructions.  I turned the watch on.  Then off.  I tried syncing again.  I Uninstalled. Reinstalled.  Still there.  For $250 I don't think I should have to work this hard on this watch.
