Inaccuracies with the GPS.

Has anybody experienced a lot of inaccuracies with the GPS on the Fitbit sense. Went for a walk in the park today and it was like super hot and humid. It was registered on my Fitbit I went about a half a mile longer than I did on the same walk and the same course a week ago. And my pace was like a minute and a half faster and it was a lot harder today. How could on one walk say 3.08 Miles and today 3.57 miles. I can see a little bit difference but not that much..

Hi @antonio9931.

Unfortunately from my experience the onboard GPS on the Sense 2 is very poor. I've concluded that it is down to antenna placement (the black plastic part on the back of the device). It's not in a good place for something where a clear line of sight is critical. Hopefully this will somewhat be resolved (a workaround?) with the new FW with the addition of connected GPS (using your phones GPS over Bluetooth).

However I don't believe this will help with the distance and pace accuracy as Fitbit use an algorithm that favours steps multiplied by stride length even when GPS is available. It seems (and previously confirmed by a Fitbit Mod) as though the GPS is only used periodically to update the stride length. This is fine if your pace is very consistent, but for most of us will produce inaccurate results.
