That's because in order to use some of the functions of the watch, you have to have the app running in the background. That means you could be using your data plan if you're not connected to free WiFi.

Hi @aquinine - it is highly unlikely that the Fitbit App could use that much data unless you have a special clock face with internet access that is constantly communicating.
In your phone battery settings check the Fitbit App actual usage as it may be something else in your phone that is using that much traffic and consider enabling WiFi when in range.
