Hi, I got a sense 2 for Xmas, I’ve had to charge it every morning since it arrived. I thought it was supposed to last 6 days?!

I don’t think I’m doing anything you wouldn’t expect on it, Is anyone else having this issue?
thanks

@Chopstan Location services refer to the mobile phone not the watch. You need location services enabled for Weather app working (Fitbit app must acquire your location so can check local weather and update the app on the watch). The GPS does not run on its own on Sense 2 (or any other Fitbit watch). The only time GPS runs is when it's enabled during activities. GPS won't drain your battery during any other usage. If your battery dies this fast the problem lies somewhere else and I'd recommend contact the customer support.

On your side, if by any chance you use a third-party watchface then switch to the default watchface (Facet). The watchface may be draining your battery. Make sure the Always-On display is off. Disable cEDA. Reboot watch. Standard things. You may try to do factory reset as the last thing. If nothing helps - contact customer support, replace/return the watch. Battery may be faulty (most likely).

@Cmartins Sense 2 has built-in GPS, doesn't use GPS from your phone. The only use of the phone GPS is currently the Weather app but that cannot drain your battery on the watch as the location services run on the mobile phone (nothing to do with the watch).

Hi Chopstan, I have the same problem. In the beginning, the battery was lasting for 5 days (but I was playing a lot with mine, trying to understand how it works), then 4 days - 3 days - 2 days - now it barely lasts 24 hours.

One work around was to disable the GPS tracking in my iPhone. However I cannot track my runs anymore. Not sure if this is a real solution. Also, they say that Body Responses and SpO2 drain a lotthe battery. But then, it would be - like - the point of having such a watch, and we cannot use these features.

I am a bit disapointed, too.

Hello @Chopstan and @Cmartins

If the battery in your Sense 2 last less than 24 hours, it is defective and you should try to get a replacement from your vendor or Fitbit customer support.

Hi SebWotan,
The problem is that they say that if we keep the GPS on ('Turn Location
Services' to 'Always'), the battery will last for 6 hours... And if I turn
it off, I do not get the GPS tracking (obviously 😁).
Do you leave the 'Location Services' to 'Always'? How long does your
battery lasts with this feature on?
Thank you for replying.

Ah, yes I’ve seen my location settings were set to ‘always’ so I’ve turned that off, hopefully that will make the difference, though I agree that it’s disappointing not to be able to use the full features of the device without this amount of compromise!

@Cmartins

I do not use the GPS at all, it is always off on my Sense 2. I guess it makes sense to have it on when doing a jog or a walk, but not in between.

Well, I think the function to turn on the GPS ‘while using the app’ should work and take care of this… that’s so unfortunate!

Hi Chopstan,
Thank you for the detailed information. That’s really helpful. I actually just did a factory reset and restarted everything from scratch. I hope it will work as intended now.
Best wishes,
