Offline MP3 Capable?

Will the new Sense 2 support storage/playback of offline MP3 files like older Fitbit models did? ( For example: Ionic, Versa 2.)

Any info on this @LizzyFitbit ?

Hi @HalKilmer.

Seeing as the Sense/Versa 3 didn't and there is no mention on any of the product pages that the Sense 2/Versa 4 will support personal offline mp3 storage, we have to assume that it doesn't support it at this point.

Also the support for music storage for own files will end for older devices which still have this feature (like old Versa) so looks like Fitbit decided to go the opposite direction and remove the feature entirely even from older Fitbit watches.

I'm actually not even sure Sense 2 / Versa 4 can control music being played on the phone as I don't see any evidence anywhere.

@Dopovo yes both trackers are able to control music on the phone.

I use my Sense to also remotely control the camera and Goggle presentations.

@Rich_Laue evidence please? You're using Sense, not Sense 2

Correct, no-one, but maybe a few YouTube reviewers users may have a preproduction Sense 2

I've done this with my Versa, Versa 2, and Sense. As well as the Force, Surge, and Ionic. Since they all use the same logic to control music on the phone. It should be the same for the Sense 2. So yes I'm fairly confident that fitbit will not be rewriting this function in the fitbit app for the phone.

For the camera remote, it works the same as a selfie stick. Turn on the option to use the volume control to take pictures.

For remote control of presentatiions, ensble the option to use the volume up/down for forward and back.

For music/video playback, simply use the Pause/play/volume controls. Please note that the user will need the app already open on the phone.

@Rich_Laue you are probably right that eventually there will be some music support but mind that the logic you mention failed users several times already:

- Charge 2, 3, 4 can count floors, Charge 5 can't

- Versa 1 can show swimming laps, Versa 2/3 can't

- Versa/Ionic can store offline music, Versa3/Sense can't

The assumption that something worked on previous devices doesn't guarantee it will on next devices.

Let me add:

- Charge 3/4 have weather app ->Charge 5 doesn't

- Charge 3/4 have Spotify app -> Charge 5 doesn't

- Charge 3/4 have Realx app -> Charge 5 doesn't
