Red X after applying screen protector

I applied a screen protector that covers the side button. Now the screen won’t come on and once I hold down the side button the Fitbit logo flashes and then a red X appears and the screen won’t turn on.

Since removed the screen protector. Still not starting.

How long have you had the device? When my old versa classic showed the big red x, it was beyond fixing. I think the software update killed my watch

Thanks for responding. I just got it. I haven’t had it a week. I contacted FitBit support and they said the same thing, send it back and we’ll send you a new one. It’s now a $451 paperweight 😊
