I've owned Fitbit smart watches since 2016 with the Blaze, including Versa, Versa 2, and now Sense 2.
I'm sad that I didn't read the fine print, as I assumed with previous updates it would include previous technology and make improvements on the past watches. I was so excited to get my new Fitbit that I disposed of the packaging, which makes it almost impossible to return for a full refund. The Sense 2 is a downgrade, from both the Versa 2 and Sense watches. For me the features I miss most are controlling music on my wrist as I am working out so that I don't have to have my phone in hand, and also the 3rd party apps. Sadly, I believe since Google purchased the company and they have come out with their own Google Smartwach they are trying to downgrade the original Fitbit watches. I am an Apple phone user, and the thing I always loved about their trackers was it was both Apple and Android friendly. I believe this is going to alienate many of their long time customers, and make their demographic for customers smaller. Hopefully they will be listening to the bad reviews and fix this situation. Only wished I would of waited for the reviews to come out before purchasing. Even though I have an iPhone, I never wanted an Apple watch because I was happy with my Fitbits... until now. Any long term customers have thoughts on the subject?

I ordered the Sense 2 as a replacement to my Versa 2 that turned obsolete after 2 years when the screen completely stopped working. I was excited about the Sense 2 because it seemed like such a great upgrade. Like you, I was disappointed that they took away previous features I loved about my Versa 2, like music controls. In fact, once I discovered I could no longer control music from my watch at the gym I decided it wasn’t going to work for me. If I was to skip a song while working out, the last thing I want to do is carry my phone on me to dig it out of a pocket to skip a song. I also didn’t like there isn’t a date for when some features will be “unlocked”. If those features weren’t ready, maybe the Sense 2 wasn’t ready to be released. The Versa 2 was my 3rd Fitbit, the Sense 2 would have been my 4th. But the short life of my Versa 2 (well cared for) and the extreme disappointment in their top of the line model, I am now the proud owner of an Apple Watch. I’ve only had the Apple Watch for 5 hours, but it is so worth the extra money to part ways with Fitbit.
