I've had this new fitbit for just over 1 year. I never had too much of an issue with the battery draining quickly, however, of course, as soon as the warranty is over (1 yr), the battery is now draining quickly and I don't even get a notification now that the fitbit needs charging. Charged it yesterday, fully charged at 12:30pm and by 12:52 it was already down to 92%. Today it is 10:56 am and the battery is down to 72%. At this rate, I'll have to charge it again very soon. I've never used the GPS and have minimal notifications..
