Sense 2 ECG app not available in Thailand

I just bought a Sense 2 specifically for the ECG app which I need to monitor for my heart condition.  Having spent a day and a half trying every trick known to man to get the ECG app working I discovered that it was not approved for use in Thailand.  I returned the watch for refund as it was of no use to me without the ECG app.  Looking further, I found that Samsung has recently gained approval for their  similar watches with ECG function for use in Thailand.  I really don't want to buy a Samsung watch which I believe to be inferior to the Fitbit range so I would like to know if Fitbit will now apply for approval from the Thai authority.

If you look at the website here it will tell you which countries are supported.  Fitbit does not have approvals yet from the government of Thailand to support ECG in your country now.  There's nothing that either you or Fitbit can do except wait until it's approved.

Also, they never release which countries they applied for support in, so to answer your question, nobody knows if Fitbit applied for approval in Thailand yet.

Thanks for your suggestion but I already tried that but it doesn't work.  I think it is the physical location of the phone that is crucial so if you visit Thailand you will find that when your watch connects to the phone app it immediately cuts off without explanation..  Frustrating that Fitbit can sell this watch in Thailand without telling the buyer that one of its main features will not work. I did eventually find the information after quite a bit of work to I returned the watch for refund.  In the meantime I'm considering getting a Samsung Galaxy watch.

Welcome to the Community, @LuckyLes@DramaQueenDiva Thanks for the help.

@LuckyLes Thanks for the detailed information, as well as your efforts. As our friend mentioned, the ECG App is available in certain countries that are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to our medical products. I'm sorry for the experience that you've had with the Sense 2.

Our team is working hard to bring this app to Fitbit users across the world, and your feedback is truly appreciated. Please keep an eye on this link for future updates about the availability of this feature.

Thank you for contacting me.  I would like to explain that I wanted to contact Fitbit with my question but I didn't think it appropriate to do this in open forum. I first tried to send a direct message but this failed as I don't have (or want) and account with Twitter. Finally I contacted by live chat and from there I was told to use the forum where my message would be heard "loud and clear".  If I've unintentionally abused the system I apologise for any offense caused.
