Sense 2 ECG app not supported if region changed

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got the Sense2 watch from USA, the ECG app was working. Now the watch is being used by me at Qatar, but the ECG app is not seen since few days. Fitbit support confirmed, the app cannot be downloaded and not supported in my current region.

Has anybody faced similar problem?

The region settings on watch and app are still USA.

Need help as ECG app was main reason for buying sense 2 watch.

Hello @g1chaudhari and welcome to the Community.  The ECG app is a medically regulated feature.  It needed approval by the Center for Disease Control in the US to be released here.  It needs approval by the equivalent regulatory body in Qatar to be available there.  Fitbit determines your location from your phone's IP address, not from the information you input.

It is my understanding that you can mask you location with a VPN, but I don't have any experience doing it.

It is also unlikely that the feature will be approved in Qatar.  Google doesn't sell products directly in Qatar.

I think for purely personal use, Fitbit should not involve government approval for any App.

As long as the user agrees to use the app only for personal use like all other Fitbit apps, it should not have any dependency on approvals from govt.

As a user, I feel deprived of this facility for which I had bought the Sense 2 watch.

Fitbit needs to look into it.
