Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

7/13 Update: We’re continuing to roll out this firmware for the Sense 2 Firmware Update 194.61, and expect more customers are able to update their devices. This is a progressive rollout and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We release updates in phases so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!

We’re excited to announce that a firmware update version 194.61 for Sense 2 will be available soon! Some of you might already have this update available. If you installed it, let us know what you think!

We release updates to customers in phases. If you don’t see it, check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

Does anyone know when a new watch update will be available? I saw an article a few weeks ago from 9to5Google (https://9to5google.com/2023/06/13/fitbit-charge-5-new-clocks/?utm_source=9to5Google%20Newsletter&utm...).

It mentioned the ability to change clock faces and manage menstrual health with a new tile on the watch. Has anyone received this update? Since Challenges were removed, Fitbit has been slow at adding features.

Hello, will this update be released little by little?

Hi, immediatelly after I installed this update the trackers stopped working: heart -green light- keeps getting stuck and I have to restart the watch to get it working again. And the red lights stopped working altogether. I got this watch in mid April, so 2 months ago. Any guidance?

@OmarVar Yes this is usually the case with Fitbit FW updates. It will be released to a small percentage of users to start with and scaled up over the coming days/weeks.

hi @Ievuska - thanks for reporting the issue, did you try restarting the watch again, sometimes the updates cause problems.

I think there will still be no 3rd Party Apps... 🤦‍:male_sign:

There is so much Potential, come on!

The minimum would be a torch light function, because it would be so easy...

Would this update fix the 'unread notification indicator' which has never worked?

It would be really great to know in detail which bugs were fixed as the Sense 2 software is full of bugs at this moment. I really welcome that after 7 months there are some bug fixes. Hope they will be fixed because if you strip your watch of features, at least the basics should work seamlessly. This is not the case and I feel like the software is just quickly thrown together to accommodate the changes (i.e. downgrades) forced by Google and some things are not working because of the removal of “basic” features. For EUR 300, it is not much to be honest. At least please give us YouTube Music and Bluetooth capability, and at that point we can maybe call it a smartwatch/sportwatch.

Any chance that this update will fix the "something went wrong..."  error that happens any time I try to set up Google Wallet.  It'd be nice if Fitbit could fix some of the existing bugs before adding new features.

I am currently having issues with major audible distortion from the Sense 2's speaker and it's super frustrating. Is this a firmware related issue that will be remedied with this update, or am I looking at an entirely different problem?

Ok Lizzy but when are the 3rd party apps and music control etc... being rolled out? We've been waiting 9 months for any confirmation that they will be brought back!  If we had known sense 2 and versa 4 would not have all those features we would have kept our old fitbits.  Blatant false advertising

Anyone in UK received update?  I still didn't receive any update 😕

Best Answer

@Sairamkanteti I'm in the UK and not received the update yet. My wife has the Versa 4 and she hasn't received it either. Hopefully it will fix some of the issues that the Sense 2 and Versa 4 have, especially the issues with Google Wallet on the Sense 2.

----------

I have just had a conversation with Fitbit Support and they have just told me that development are still working on this firmware version.

They said they have no date when it will be available in the UK as well. This to me is terrible support. If they are rolling it out there must be a schedule somewhere. Hopefully this might fix some of the issues with Google Wallet on both the Sense 2 and Versa 4.........I'm not going to hold my beath for that one though.

@LizzyFitbit can you help us here? A loot of use are waiting for this update for the Sense 2 and Versa 4, so when is it going to be available in the UK. Please note the comments above directly from Fitbit Support. Someone here is not telling the truth and my feeling is that it is the organisation that is doing Fitbit Support!!!

Hopefully this firmware will be deployed to everyone before the next one came in, if there is a next one.

@infinidim I doubt CS has information like that and what you've been told is an improvised piece when a person ran out of the script to follow. Wouldn't be the first time. I've heard lots of bizarre things from CS in the past (for example, did you know that the Strava app is in development for Sense 2?). It's not that they want to lie to you but when cornered they go off the script by making up things. This is at least my experience.

@Triletics, one of the reasons I sent the message with @LizzyFitbit in it was I was hoping, but not expecting it, that she would come on the forum and give us an update. She doesn't seem to be that active these days since Google bought Fitbit. Up until the take-over I was really happy with Fitbit and the support they provided, since the take-over the support has gone down hill. This is not a perception but a fact. If I had not purchased my Sense 2 in the first month of this year to replace my original Sense (which was really good and had great features) then like so many people who have been with Fitbit for years I would have purchased another brands smartwatch.

And still we have not got the firmware update in the UK yet.

I live in the US and have not received any new update yet .....

I dont know why this is announced when the firmware clearly isnt available. You don’t roll out firmware is a scattered fashion. You use beta testers and then bang, it’s out there. iPhone updates appear just like that, not it’s coming, coming but not yet. I was really happy with my Versa 2 but my new Sense 2 is a bit of a joke in terms of software and apps. It keeps displaying a Red Cross after charging but apparently that’s normal and support day I just need to monitor it! Plus it’s just really basic. Already choosing my Garmin replacement I’m afraid.

@Leaty, when they were Fitbit ( on there own) I used to test firmware for the Sense I had. We used to test it to for quite a long time before they released it. We often used to find loads of errors and bugs, they would send out a new drop and go through the whole process until it was as good as we could get it. This seems to have gone to pot now they they are owned by Google. @Li@LizzyFitbit vcorrect me if I am wrong.
